Hiking in Alicante

Going hiking is the latest thing!

Everyone knows that Alicante is famous for its beaches and palm trees, but the region is also known for its hiking trails.
There is no question that people truly enjoy Alicante’s beaches, coves, sea, sun and all the luxuries of being in this fantastic waterfront city.
However, it has more to offer than just beach umbrellas, sand castles and starfish. Alicante has an endless array of incredible mountain landscapes. Truth be told, there is nothing like gazing at the sea from afar, equipped with hiking boots and overlooking the horizon.

Of the many trails and itineraries, three in particular stand out:

The top three hiking trails

Hiking in Maigmó
Hiking to the top of Maigmó along its northern face is one of the best mountain itineraries Alicante has to offer. Be sure to stop by Balcón de Alicante to take in the incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. On a clear day, it is even possible to see Tabarca Island.

Hiking in Puig Campana
There are several trails to choose from so we recommend doing some research and selecting the one that appeals the most. In any case, spend some time at the top to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Hiking to Torre de Aguiló
The trail begins at a small cove near the town of Villajoyosa. This simple coastal route is relatively flat. The views along the way are stunning and visitors can go for a swim in the small coves with crystal-clear water.

A different type of family day trip
